Jazz pianist/composer Gerald Clayton has been saluted for his Oscar Peterson-like style and is one of the rising stars of today’s jazz scene. His music has been performed by the BBC Orchestra and he has won award recognition from the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, the title “Presidential Scholar of the Arts,” and second place in the Thelonius Monk Institute Jazz Piano Competition. He has studied piano and compositon with jazz greats Shelly Berg, Billy Childs, and Kenny Barron and has performed with some of the most illustrious names in jazz such as Lewis Nash, Al Foster, Terrell Stafford and Clark Terry. He has recording credits with Roy Hargrove, Diana Krall and numerous others and his trio includes Justin Brown, drums, and Joe Sanders, bass. |
