Barbara Bentree / John Rangel Jazz pianist and composer John Rangel is a multi-talented musician whose breadth of music styles includes classical, film music, pop, salsa, reggae and calypso, to name a few. From his Los Angeles base, John’s music collaborations have included performances with such artists as Nat Adderly, Marcus Printup, Ira Sullivan, Sam Rivers, Ravi Coltrane, Tierney Sutton, Rosemary Clooney, and many more. Now in New Mexico, John has won seven NM Music Awards in 2009 and 2010. Barbara Bentree, is a singer who is also a writer, director, and producer. Barbara worked for two decades as a professional singer in Los Angeles and her credentials include a 3-year tenure as vocal music producer for The New Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney Channel. She has also sung and directed music for television shows such as Ally McBeal, Wings, and Days of our Lives. Barbara is currently releasing a solo CD titled, “Green” that illuminates the beauty of nature through creative jazz arrangements. Barbara and John will be previewing this music at the August 15 performance. The Quail Run dinner offering for the evening includes cold Gazpacho soup, Chicken Piccata or Baked salmon with a Pecan Herb Crust and Sorrell sauce, and Fresh Fruit Cobbler.
