Saxophonist, bandleader and composer Ravi Coltrane is the son of John and Alice Coltrane. He came to jazz in his 20's as he performed with renowned drummer Elvin Jones and a move to New York City resulted in his music collaborations with Jack de Johnette, Wallace Roney, Geri Allen, Kenny Barron, Joe Lovano, Joanne Brackeen and Steve Coleman. His touring over the years has included performances with McCoy Tyner, Pharoah Sanders, Carlos Santana, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis and numerous others.
